Monitoring eAccessibility - dynamic report

Benchmarking reports Influence of accessibility policies, networked readiness and ICT development in the global level of accessibility.

Description

The variables considered in this report are:

  • Global technology status
  • Global policy status
  • Networked readiness index
  • ICT Development Index

The underlying hypotheses are:

  • The higher the level of implementation of accessibility policies, the more positive is expected to be the overall situation of accessibility.
  • The existence of a high availability of networks (networked readiness index) has a positive impact on overall accessibility.
  • The existence of a high level of ICT development (ICT Development Index) has a positive impact on overall accessibility.

Legend

At the aggregate level (all countries, EU countries, non-EU countries), the icons show the trend of the correlation between the variables analyzed in the countries in each group. Since the data (sample) for the aggregate levels are low for statistical calculations, 17 for all countries, 13 for EU countries and 4 for non-EU countries, the correlation is not statistically significant, so the results show a merely indicative correlation:

  • Positive correlationPositive correlation (correlation coefficient greater than +0,33)
  • No correlationNo correlation (correlation coefficient between -0.33 and +0,33), and
  • Negative correlationNegative correlation (correlation coefficient less than -0.33).

The data presented on this page are the integrated responses of the national experts from each country (the following link shows the full list of experts). As these data are currently undergoing a period of validation by the same national experts and different national authorities of the countries analyzed, the data may be subject to minor modifications and should not be considered definitive until the end of this validation period (approximately June 2011).
